Ag Progress Days is Over!
I can’t say I’m sorry to see the show closed. It’s a lot of work for a short show, but at least it seems like it was well worth the effort.
The over all tone of the public seem to be very optimistic and people were there to make buying decisions. We had the usual show
days, light crowd on Tuesday very good on Wednesday and Thursday. I’ll be adding a few Pictures to the photo album, take a minute to
take a look.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all that helped set-up and work the show. Dan Base from Land Pride helped set up all the equipment we showed
about 30 pieces of Land Pride. Gene Hines of Hines Equipment supplied many pieces for the show. Karl from Dotterer Equipment also Supplied many of the Land Pride
pieces we showed. Mark Decker came out to help work the show.
Ross Johnson of Mid Atlantic Agri Systems supplied all the AerWay equipment and worked the booth most of the time. Matt Mayer from the company came down
from Canada to support our efforts.
Heather Strahm from Haybuster came from North Dakota to work the show. Jim Huber supplied the no till drills displayed on our lot. Dotterer Equipment helped
clean up the show by taking all the Haybuster back to his dealership.
Jeff Huckle attended the show and set up a great display of AgCam in the tent. Lot’s of interest in this product.
A big Thank You to my friend Tom Clark from Derry Township who always takes vacation days during the show to help us truck equipment
and set up and tear down the show. We don’t know how we would do it without his help.
My Dad, George Heath who again at the age of 83 came up to help work the show. It’s always great to have him in the booth with us.
I should also mention Mom who took care of Benji in our absence.
And last but not least Theda who puts it all together and makes sure we have all the arrangements made for everyone. That plus helps load the trailers
and unload the trailers and put everything back together.

Ag Progress Starts Today
Shows on today! Set up is done and we are ready for the crowds. Hope you’ll make a point to stop and talk to al the factory rep’s that are helping us work the Ag Progress Days show. This year we have a new company displaying in the booth. AgCam will be showing a full line of video cameras for on farm use. As him to see the camers that have be abused for product testing. One was shot with a 22 rifle 5 times and it still works. Another camera was run over by an 8 ton grain cart ( not sure if I have my facts right could be 80 ton, but that seems wa high) anyway a lot of weight and it still works fine. The out side shell is crushed the lens is broke and the picture is still clear. These are not cheap cameras! The the best the industry offers. Hope to see you at the show! DH
Ag Progress Days

Today is the day that we begin set up for the Ag Progress Day show in State college,PA. I visited the site last night and a few tent were already up. By tonight it will look like a tent city and the field will be full of equipment. We will be showing a full line of Land Pride, AerWay, Haybuster, DuraTech, Tiger Power and AgCam. We will also be displaying a number of Land Pride attachments in the Kubota booth. I haven’t added up the cos of equipment yet, but I’ll let you know a little later in the week. Interesting time in the Equipment Business
As we travel around visiting dealers and manufacturers we are often asked how everyone else is doing. The answers are not easy this year and they are different than we’ve seen since we started in 1976. Most of the dealers tell us that there is no pattern to the traffic in their dealership. One day the are swapped and the next day they are dead. Many dealers are going great guns and having record numbers , but their are just as many saying that business is very soft. Those that are doing good always find a piece of wood to knock on in hopes that the business continues to do good. Fortunately we are also in that category and we continue to find some wood to knock on each day.
As independent Manufacturers Reps we have become attractive to many manufacturers as a way to bring their product to market. With the high cost of everything we (independent Manufactures Representative) have become the best alternative to maintaining and managing their own staff. On average we receive 2 to 4 inquires every week from companies that would like us to represent their product. Most don’t fit our profile of calling on Ag, Municipal and Industrial dealers in the Northeast ,but is always interesting to see the many opportunities that are out there. DH

The sale of gas-powered generators at state retail hardware stores has soared since then as we buy them up in nervous apprehension of what nature may send our way. The ever-present threat of summertime thunderstorms we know all too well, send us scurrying to seek shelter from the storms. The masses huddle inside their homes hoping lightning doesn't strike too closely and cause a power outage. Our dependency on electricity, and in particular, how much we rely on it in scorching summer heat, weighs heavily on people's minds at this time (especially this year). "Those gas-powered generators may not always be reliable," said Drew Roemer, general manager of Landig Tractor Company in Tampa. "It's not good to leave them sitting around with gas in them for months at a time," said Roemer. "As the gas gets old and stale they often won't start - and in many cases - the battery dies." Now, for tractor owners with a power take off, there’s the TigerPower PTO generator, that is highly dependable and requires no maintenance. TigerPower is the brand leader in the PTO generator market throughout the United States.
